Help with your heating costs

During this cold weather, it is useful to know that if you are on a low income you may be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment. This extra money helps towards your heating costs during very cold weather.

The payment is available to those already claiming certain benefits. The amount is £25 and payable when the average temperature where you live is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees Celsius or below, over seven consecutive days during the period from 1 November to 31 March.

There is also plenty of information and advice available about how to stay well in winter by keeping warm and the financial support that is available.
