What do we need to know about?

Please tell us straight away if any of the following things change:

Your personal details

  • Your bank details change
  • You change your name
  • You become disabled
  • You get married or divorced
  • You become part of a civil partnership or your civil partnership is dissolved
  • Your partner or spouse dies
  • You start or stop doing voluntary work

Where you live

  • You move home
  • You go abroad
  • You go into hospital or someone you claim for goes into hospital
  • You are in custody serving a sentence imposed by a court
  • You go into residential care or a nursing home

Who you live with

  • Your partner or spouse moves in with you or moves away
  • Someone who is not dependent on you financially moves in or out of your household

Your financial situation

  • You are awarded a benefit
  • Any other benefits you receive are changed
  • Any other income you receive changes
  • Your savings or investments change*
  • Your occupational pension changes*
  • You start or stop doing paid work

*If you receive Pension Credit and have been awarded an Assessed Income Period you do not need to tell us about changes to your savings and investments or occupational pensions.
